Artist’s Statement
This digital collage series is closely connected with the author’s self-reflection on human destiny in our times of modern crisis and hopes.
Collages are based on mobile phone photography and were created in Pixlr, a mobile phone application. Modern life is concentrated in our smartphones – so, the senses and reflections of our times have been produced inside the mobile phone also. An intimate, lyrical creation in an era of universal open communication. Another crossroads of meanings, the ironic oxymoron of modernity.
Maybe live in the epoch of the collapse of big narratives, so-called post-modern, post-information, post-… Probably, yes.
But we still collect the meanings of our own lives from the shards of these stories and references, that we no longer seriously believe in, even though we still have nothing else.
What can human destiny and life look like?
It can be a multitude of contradictory images, diverse intentions, which together multiply each other – and once again reassemble the mosaic of meanings, hopes, and fears of man in the world of Post.
