My older sister
believes in chemtrails,
those smudgy autographs
airplanes leave
on the blue yearbook
of the sky
Airplane Was Here
Have A Great Summer
etc, in disappearing ink
And I still believe
heaven is whatever
you want or not and
God is Santa Claus
because sure
But let me tell you, reader
the earth is round
and really rare
the only one of its kind
Chelsea Harlan was born and raised in the Blue Ridge of Appalachian Virginia. She holds a BA from Bennington College and an MFA in Poetry from Brooklyn College, where she was a Truman Capote Fellow. Her poems are forthcoming or have appeared in Pouch, Sixth Finch, DIAGRAM, The Feelings Journal, The American Poetry Review, and elsewhere.
